West to La Coruña

Another early start as we pulled up anchor and headed out to the Bay of Biscay again, needing warm clothes and full wet weather gear for the mist and strong cold wind. The seas were a confused and lumpy with a 2-5 metre swell and we were rocked around a great deal even with the headsail up.the shore was a blanket of fog as we made our way west along the coast. Heating the soup for lunch in the microwave was not easy. After six hours we were well around the point heading south for La Coruña when the sun broke through and by the time we were motoring into the Ria de La Coruña we needed only t-shirts.

We docked at the relatively new Marina La Coruña in scorching sun and 30 degrees! It didn't take long for me to be in my bathers and finding ways to cool off. The long, sweeping town beach is not far away so tomorrow may be my first swim.
