Being a very suitable day to go to a market in one of the smaller towns we drove to Santa Maria, only about a half hour to the north of Palma. It's a great market because there are many stalls of the usual clothes, bags, underwear, shoes, kitchenware, as well as many stalls of fruit and vegetables, deli meats and cheeses, olives, etc plus a bakery stall and someone cooking little doughnuts, which of course we had to taste. So we were able to buy all that we needed for lunch plus veges for dinner to accompany our roast shoulder and leg of lamb. That particular market also sells local homeware pottery, which is brown earthenware with simple designs.
It was a pleasant last day and evening for Chris and John, with lunch and dinner on the boat and a sunny afternoon for just relaxing.
