Greg and I firstly went to the Mercado Abastecedor da Ribeira to shop for fresh food. It is Lisbon's largest market and we were able to buy quality fruit and vegetables by selecting from various stalls and there were also a number of excellent fish stalls, but unfortunately the Portuguese have stupidly let the supermarkets take over. So the market was very quiet, and I suspect the quality has suffered.
Greg decided to relax on the boat for the rest of the day while I found a hairdresser, wandered around more of Lisbon's streets and sought out A Brasileira again for another coffee and Portuguese tart. The service at this cafe is dreadful but they have such good coffee and cakes that everyone goes there anyway. A lovely taxi driver who lives near the marina took me into Lisbon, picked me up when I was ready to return to the boat and then drove Greg and me to have a quick meal and waited to drive us home. He was very happy to do this because the economy is so bad that most of the taxi drivers are just sitting around for hours hoping to pick up a fare.
