Race preparation

This is not the fun time! Greg and I have been busy doing things such as picking up two new sails, a spinaker and a number 3 headsail, which were delivered from the sailmaker in Palma, Mallorca to the Yacht Club Costa Smerelda at Porto Cervo. Our rented vehicle is a VW Polo (tiny) so it was quite a tight squeeze to fit the sails in, even with the back seats down. Although Greg has carried the spinaker to the boat, we can't lift the number 3 out, let alone carry it anywhere. This will be the first job for crew.

We have 9 crew coming from Australia and 1 Australian coming from England for the regatta and we have just been to the airport in Olbia to pick up Gatta who is arriving via Rome. Unfortunately his luggage didn't arrive so he is rather unhappy. Tomorrow morning 5 more crew arrive but the crew apartments are not available until the day after so I have been busy making beds. Thankfully there is a laundry service at the marina!
