Still in Genoa

We are still in Genoa, which is a very interesting city with many beautiful areas and stunning buildings. It's a great pity that they have a freeway along the port which blocks out some glorious old buildings and that much of the waterside area is ship building and industrial. Once you get in from that there are many homes and museums that were palaces a few hundred years ago, a swag of beautiful churches and lots of extremely interesting lanes and streets, a fabulous food market plus great restaurants everywhere. The only trouble is that tourist information hardly exists. The taxi drivers kept telling us that tourists go everywhere else in Italy but do not know about Genoa.
